The Vanishing South

I have a southern rural heritage, both my parents were born in a small town in north Alabama.  Both of their families farmed, and I learned early what work was about. Even when my family moved to the Augusta area, we kept a garden and grew a lot of our food.  I saw this kind of self-sufficient lifestyle disappearing, and decided to try to document what of it I could.  My job requires me to travel around the east-central section of Georgia and occasionally South Carolina, so I take my camera with me and take photographs on my breaks.  I will be posting the photos I take here on an irregular basis.  If this sort of thing interests you, please check back to see what has changed.
